Cheating, Plagiarism, Copying, Helping your friend, etc, etc are taken very seriously in USA even at a bottom ranked University. So if you are from a culture that promotes friendship and collaboration, please do not practice your culture in the academic sphere, exams and assignments. Disciplinary action is swift and expulsion from University is not uncommon for academic dishonesty.
